POSTOFF were born in November, 2003, based on ¡§few ideas but confused¡¨. The first sonic experiments of the group were composed of three elements¡X guitar-drums-synth. They were then joined by co-ordinates who brought their music a touch of 90s American indie rock (such as the Pavements, Black Heart Procession, dEUS) and, moreover, a strong contamination with folk music. As the months went by, the line-up of the band kept transforming and they recorded their first demo, produced by themselves, with six musicians: another guitar, female vocals, bass guitar, and viola. This work was called ¡§Psychotales¡¨, which was published in March, 2004. Although it was marked with an ingenuosness that is often inevitable but normal for a debut demo, it created the path for the band to start playing live several times, and taking part in many national and regional contests:

  • FarciSentire Festival ¡V in Scisciano (Na) where they were among the eight winning bands and played on stage with the ¡¥Giardini di Mirò¡¦;

  • Today I¡¦m Rock (Salerno) -  POSTOFF was among the best eight bands;

  • Laceno Rock Festival (Av) ¡V Third place;

  • Rock Festival di Rocchetta S. Antonio ¡V Critic¡¦s premium.

The reviews on their album have been positive, such as the ones in webzine MusicBoom, Impattosonoro, and FreakOut On Line.

In autumn 2004, the band were ready to record a self-produced EP, but there were problems in the sessions caused by too many changes in the line-up. The EP ¡§My Steoreogames¡¨ was completed in February 2005, and its sound is less gloomy than ¡§Psychotales¡¨. The EP was, for the group, like a ticket to take part in other contests:

  • Band in Cantiere (Cremona) _ The band were among the best eight;

  • Six Days Sonic Madness (BN) -  The group was among the best eight of Campania section;

  • Destinazione Neapolis (NA) ¡V The band were among the best eight;

  • MusicalBox (Urbino) The group was among the best 32.

POSTOFF then began playing live regularly, but were unfortunately often hampered by the many changes in the line-up. However, the opening show at the ¡§Comunicativo¡¨ Festival, where the group played before Rutili-Becker duo (Califone) was a very important step for them. In the summer of 2005, POSTOFF came to a turning point as their line-up was reduced to only three members (guitar, bass, drums), with the intention of adding new elements to their sounds. Their influences have expanded to include new wave, noise, garage rock, punk and many more.
